Recently, I made a rather unusual, bone-headed mistake: For the first time since I started shooting with models, I neglected to get a model release from a model who approached me for collaboration. At the time I thought, “she’s cool, I can always get it signed later.” My lesson is that later sometimes doesn’t come. (more…)

The Spider Shoot
As a few of you may know, I’ve had this idea for using a tarantula with a nude model for a few months now. Finding a spider owner willing to let me use their pet, however, was a tad more difficult than I would have expected. In fact, I was surprised that it was so much easier to find models willing to let a creepy spider crawl on their naked body than it was to procure the tarantula itself! But I persevered, and one of my new friends, Jason, happened to have a pet tarantula and was gracious enough to let me borrow it for my shoot. (more…)

My Blog Makeover
As part of any marketing/branding campaign, I knew it was necessary to make my blog match closely with the design I had for my main site. Having done all of the original design myself, I knew it would be a challenge to create a Blogger template that mirrored the original, and I was not sure I was up to the task. (more…)
