In an agreement that started sometime last July, many of the images we photographers have uploaded to the online photo sharing/hosting service Flickr will be available starting March 11th as stock photography through Getty Images.
Getty editors will begin with 3 billion images, hand-picked from Flickr’s massive pool, and make direct contact with the image owners for permission and sign up. It is a great opportunity for photographers to get their work out to the masses, and to make a little profit as well.
