A Day at the Park

I took my 4 year old son, Kiefer, to the Nathanael Greene Park late last week, just to get outside for a while. As any good photographer/parent will do, I brought my camera. The New Addition to the Family

After years of talking about it, my wife finally decided she wanted to get a dog. She had her heart set on a lemon Basset Hound and we started searching for breeders in our area about two months ago. However, one fateful trip to the pet store later (which she swears was my 4 year old, Kiefer’s, idea) she fell in love with a little blue Basset they had just received. After a mostly ceremonious visit to see this puppy for myself, I must admit I rather took a liking to the little girl. (more…)

My Kids, Martin Schoeller Style

As an artist, I have always made it a point to study the works of other photographers. Their different styles and techniques are an inspiration to try new things with light, composition or subject matter. Recently I became intrigued by the work of Martin Schoeller. His straightforward, extreme close-ups of famous (and not so famous) people are full of detail and very “in your face,” if you’ll pardon the pun. (more…)
